It’s that time of year again to get your rhyme on, dust off your iambic pentameter, and wax poetic!

Mrs. Lee Golomb Cadiff was a poet and poetry lover whose daughter, Norma Cadiff Finn, is a Swampscott resident. With Mrs. Finn’s generous help, the Friends honor Mrs. Cadiff’s memory each year by recognizing outstanding poetry written by Swampscott teens.

Entries are being accepted now through Thursday, February 25. Two new categories have been added this year: best music poem and best humorous poem. Cash prizes will be awarded at a ceremony held at the library in early March.

The contest is open to middle and high school aged students (grades 5 through 12) residing or attending school in Swampscott.

Further details, including information about how to enter via email, can be found here.
